Dear Colorado Corgis and Friends Lovers,
Welcome to the Spring 2024 edition of the Colorado Corgis and Friends Newsletter! As the weather warms and flowers bloom, we're excited to share the latest news, events, and updates from our rescue. From upcoming events like the 9th Annual Corgis and Friends Take Over Denver Walk to important updates about owner surrenders and foster needs, there's plenty to discover in this edition. Join us as we celebrate the spirit of the Corgi community and the joy these furry companions bring to our lives.
Dante Update
Dante's journey began in February of this year when CCFR received an urgent request for a possible cruelty/abuse case involving the 5-month-old Corgi puppy. Dante had bilateral femur fractures and multiple fractured ribs. Thanks to dedicated fosters and generous donations, Dante underwent successful surgery. His left leg was in worse shape than his right, but he progressed well with physical therapy. Dante, a playful puppy, was eager to resume normal activities. CCFR thanks everyone for their support and donations, which were crucial in Dante's recovery journey. As of the latest update, Dante's femurs have completely healed, and he's done amazing. He will be ready for adoption after his last PT appointment and then a neuter surgery (and recovery).

Join us for a fun-filled day with our furry friends! The event is put on by Paws All in the City, a 501c3 non-profit. There will be a costume contest following the walk, as well as several vendors and food trucks. Tickets are $7 each and allow participation in all activities. Non-ticket holders are welcome to attend for free, but additional fees apply for the walk and costume contest. Visit the Paws All in the City website to purchase tickets, here.

- File guidelines: 1500px by 1500px transparent artwork preferred. Acceptable file types: AI (Adobe Illustrator), EPS, PDF, PNG, and JPG. By submitting, you agree to allow CCFR rights to print for fundraising purposes with no compensation.
- One entry per person. Number of likes will determine advancement to the final round. CCFR will make the final decision.
- There can be more than one winner and/or ties.

Supporting Responsible Ownership: A Message on Owner Surrenders
We've experienced an increase in owner surrender requests recently, with 2-4 per week for the past few months. Let's work together to do better for our dogs!
Before considering surrendering your dog, please explore all possible options, such as finding a local trainer, allowing time to decompress, considering hiring a dog walker, and creating a safe space for your furry friend.
Open Your Heart and Home: Fosters Needed in the Denver Metro Area!
With the increase in owner surrenders, we are in desperate need of foster homes in the Denver Metro area. If you're in metro Denver and have a yard, please consider opening your home to a furry friend in need. Colorado Corgis and Friends will provide all necessary supplies and care. Apply here!
